Course Description:
As the physical therapy profession prepares for the next century of professional service, each clinician and professional organization needs to reflect on current and future performance. As the profession has transitioned to a doctoring profession, we must assess our response to our social and professional responsibilities. This course will discuss the health factors and outcomes observed within Pennsylvania and the drivers of those factors and outcomes. We will discuss the role of the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant in addressing community needs. We will discuss how to address rehabilitative needs along with social determinants of health in a manner that is professionally sustainable to improve the health and wellness of Pennsylvania residents.
