Title: Gun Violence, Healthcare and the Impact on our Community

Speaker: Dan VanDerKwast and Amanda Parezo

Course Information: This course will provide the attendee with an understanding of the current statistics on gun violence and state of research in the United States. Importantly, the substantial implications that gun violence has within healthcare and on healthcare workers will be identified and discussed. Specific barriers within communities and the built environment for individuals impacted by gun violence will also be discussed. Finally, ways in which healthcare workers can advocate, educate, and work for positive change will be outlined.
