Course Description: This Webinar will discuss Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) which is a cardiovascular autonomic disorder characterized by an excessive heart rate increase on standing and orthostatic intolerance. It has gotten more attention over recent years, especially due to the rise in dysautonomic syndromes post-COVID. However, this disorder can arise in many patient populations, including after trauma which can include TBI patients. Diagnosis can be difficult, but exercise and lifestyle modifications are effective treatment options. In this webinar, I will discuss the current understanding of the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of POTS with a focus on non-pharmacological treatment.
