Title: Southcentral District - We’ve Got Your Back: How to Apply the Most Current Low Back Pain Clinical Practice Guidelines to Improve Your Patient Outcomes Speakers: Joseph R. Hribick, PT, DPT, DSc(c), COMT, FAAOMPT & Joshua Prall, PT, DPT, EdD, OSC, CSCS Course Description: This educational session is designed to expose novice and experienced physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students to the most current, evidence-informed treatment approaches available for their patients with low back pain. The APTA’s American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy’s 2021 Current Practice Guidelines for the Management of Acute and Chronic Low Back Pain: Revision 2021 will be discussed and summarized for efficient clinical application. Participants will learn how to integrate these guidelines into their daily practice to enhance patient outcomes, reduce the risk of chronicity, and improve overall treatment efficacy. This educational session will also include case studies to illustrate the practical application of the guidelines, highlighting the decision-making process for selecting appropriate interventions based on individual patient presentations. Finally, the session will encourage an interactive discussion on the barriers and facilitators to implementing these guidelines in the clinic and provide practical tips for overcoming challenges to help ensure consistent, high-quality care for patients with low back pain.
