Geriatric SIG

The APTA Pennsylvania Geriatric Special Interest Group is a state-wide volunteer organization that brings together PTs and PTAs who share an interest in the evidence-based care of geriatric patients. Benefits of membership include peer-to-peer networking, support and resources for those considering taking the Geriatric Specialist Exam and an annual “Hot Topic” educational session. 

Membership in the APTA Pennsylvania Geriatric Special Interest Group is free.

APTA Pennsylvania Geriatric SIG Award

The awards for each SIG recognize a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant that is a member of APTA/APTA Pennsylvania and has made meaningful contributions to physical therapy at the individual, chapter, or national level in the practice area supported by the SIG. The contributions can be in any of the following areas:

  • Excellence in patient care or clinical practice
  • Excellence in education or research 
  • Community Advocacy

If you would like to recognize a colleague for excellence in geriatrics, please submit a letter of nomination and the candidates resume/CV (preferred, not required) through the APTA Pennsylvania SIG Award nomination form. Award nominations are open - submit your nomination.
