Title: Functional Neurologic Disorder: Etiology, Presentation, and Interventions with Case Application

Speakers: Monika Juodisius, PT, DPT, and Kenneth Hellings, PT, DPT

Course Description: In this webinar, you will learn the complicated history of Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND), often known as conversion disorder, and the theories behind its presentation. We will discuss the possible presentations of individuals with motor FND and apply those concepts to recent patient case studies. As all physical therapists will want to know the most up-to-date research on how to work with our patients, we will spend some time reviewing the literature on this subject and discussing current recommendations for the treatment of FND, as well as some historical and current barriers to providing optimal care to this population. Although FND management has been neglected in the past, more evidence is emerging on the importance of understanding and recognizing the specialized treatment needed by physical therapists. With this webinar, we hope to promote readiness and knowledge to treat individuals who present with FND in your own practice.
