In-Person Meeting: Meet and Greet – Welcome Back Con Ed and Happy Hour!

Location: Wellspan Health Apple Hill Campus | 25 Monument Road | Entrance F, Suite 175 | York, PA 17403
Happy hour at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Hound, York

This course will focus on dynamic progressions for treating the lower extremity athlete as well as blood flow restriction (BFR) training. Through this course, you will understand how to determine the appropriate patient population and identify contraindications for the use of BFR, discuss the physiological response of strength training with and without BFR, and understand how to use BFR cuffs utilizing proper parameters and protocols. Concussion education will focus on visual-vestibular and cognitive training, including higher-level dynamic lower extremity strength and endurance exercises. Review and discussion of the Expose Recover Model. Understand the importance of outcome testing such as FMS, Y-Balance, BESS, and functional gait assessment, and increase your skills in administering such tests. Maximize patient’s functional return through agility and plyometric training by implementing dynamic progressions. Learn the importance of landing techniques and specific hop and jump tests to apply within treatments to ensure a safe return to play.

Objectives:

1. Understand the appropriate use of BFR training and discuss proper use of BFP within early and late rehab phases.

2. Understand post-concussion rehab for higher-level patients, with the Expose Recover Model being your guide.

3. Review and discuss the use of functional outcome testing in the clinical setting.

4. Discuss and demonstrate modifications and progressions of LE plyometric and agility treatments, including basic technique, cuing, and safety measures to maximize results.

5. Review proper landing mechanics and return to sport testing.

This course has been approved for 2 general contact hours.
