8:00-8:55 a.m.: Mental Health: Remember, We All Rise When We Lift Others…Keys to Wellbeing and Building Resilience in Ourselves and Others (Approved for 1 general contact hour.)

Objectives:

  • List three cardinal signs of burnout, causes of burnout, and impact on both patients and healthcare providers.
  • Identify multiple lessons learned from the pandemic that will aid in supporting good mental health and preventing burnout, with a specific focus on the power of human connection.
  • Identify specific strategies in supporting the psychological and emotional well-being of self (first) and of their fellow coworkers.
  • Have access to resources and be able to identify those that lead to actionable steps in growing resilience and supporting good mental health.

9:00-9:55 a.m.: Nutrition: Recognizing Inadequate Nutrition in Athletes (Approved for 1 direct access hour.)

Objectives:

  • Recognize and explain physical signs and symptoms of inadequate nutrition in athletes.
  • Discuss the relationship between the eating patterns of active individuals and sports performance.
  • Identify the impact of insufficient nutrition on injury risk in athletes.
  • Outline steps for professionals to take to address nutrition issues when identified.

10:00-10:55 a.m.: Current Evidence-based Approaches to Multimodal Pain Control and Opioid Minimization After Arthroscopic and Knee Preservation Surgery (Approval for 1 general contact hour.)

Objectives:

  • Identify pre-operative interventions to mitigate pain associated with knee preservation surgery.
  • Identify intra-operative interventions to mitigate pain associated with knee preservation surgery.
  • Identify post-operative interventions to mitigate pain associated with knee preservation surgery.
  • Identify emerging or future techniques for pain control after knee preservation surgery.

12:20-1:20 p.m.: Have You Considered The Spine? Discussing the Prevalence of Spine-Related Extremity Pain (Approved for 1 direct access hour.)

Speaker(s): Jason Hause PT, DPT, Cert.MDT

Objectives:

  • Discuss the prevalence of spine-related extremity pain.
  • Explain the referral patterns of spine-related extremity pain.
  • Summarize when to make an appropriate referral for further imaging or other specialty provider based on red flag screening and signs and symptoms.
  • Identify evaluation and treatment strategies for the cervical and lumbar spines based on current best practices.
