Course Description:

This one-hour lecture-based course will instruct novice and experienced physical therapists in an evidence-based lumbopelvic assessment algorithm that efficiently and accurately can determine the origin of ‘Back Pain’ in individuals of all ages. The course will look at the unique and overlapping symptom presentations from the lumbar spine, sacroiliac joints, and hip joints that often make ‘Back Pain’ challenging for clinicians. A concise review of significant assessment findings will be covered for each area and an algorithm will be presented to give clinicians a pathway for quickly ruling in and ruling out various anatomic structures as the pain generator as well as determining when a non-musculoskeletal entity may be present.
